Here's a tip for everyone, don't buy a Logitech Mouse.
My wireless Microsoft mouse recently died. It was an Intellimouse Explorer 5. I had had it for going on three and a half years and used it
quite heavily during that time. No gripes about it. It was a damn good mouse. So I bought a new Logitech LX7 mouse at Wal*Mart.
Well first thing is that the mouse doesn't come with it's own software, if you want the software to enable all it's features,
you have to visit the Logitech website and download it separately. Ghey. However, I was pleasantly surprised that it came with
Duracell batteries.
So I download and install this Logitech software called SetPoint. What does it do? It immediately uninstalls my normal keyboard
drivers and installs Logitechs own drivers over them. Mind you I only bought a mouse, not a keyboard, and I double checked and even
triple checked that I had downloaded the software for the mouse.
To make matters worse the software didn't recognize the mouse when I had the receiver plugged into the PS/2 port! Even though it came
with a USB to PS/2 converter plug. Why waste a perfectly good USB port on a mouse when PS/2 is open and can only be used for a mouse?
Well, after about an hour of my time finagling and adjusting settings and rebooting my machine I finally got the damn thing working
because of course I'm awesome with computers. Logitech should be called illogitech or logi-ghey for all I'm concerned.
Don't buy their mice or keyboards; they're nothing but garbage.
