Sparks, or "Speezy" as my friend Jake likes to call it, is a delicious, refreshing alcoholic energy drink.

When I first came back from Japan in September of 2007 I was in search of something that could replace Chu-Hi. Chu-Hi is one of the seven treasures of modern Japan. It's an alcoholic concoction that is delicious, refreshing and powerful all in one. And it is very cheap, costing only about a dollar fifty per can.

So anyway, I eventually get around to trying this Sparks stuff and the first sip blew me away! It's difficult to describe but the carbonation combined with the flavor combined with the kick of the alcohol put me in beverage heaven. It's really really good.

I realize that as of this rave, Sparks is not available everywhere in the US. That is a shame, maybe someday it will be as ubiqutous as Bud Light.
